Hatha is formed from the words “Ha” (sun) and “Tha” (moon). Hatha can also indicate strong or forceful. As a result, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, and power yoga can all be classified as Hatha Yoga. Hatha yoga is a blend of stimulating and dynamic yoga postures (represented by the sun) and restful and meditative yoga postures (represented by the moon) that results in body equilibrium.
